Bailey Peacock-Farrell admits he could exit Leeds if he doesn’t regain position

Leeds United goalkeeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell has come out with some alarming comments that he may have to leave Elland Road if he doesn’t regain his starting position.

The 22-year-old was the number one option in net for the first half of the season, where he looked steady in spells but also made some individual errors.

Manager Marcelo Bielsa ended up axing him following the January arrival of Kiko Casilla and he took over the gloves for the rest of the campaign.

The Yorkshire giants just missed out on promotion from the Championship and there is a lot of intrigue on their goalkeeper situation going into next year.

Peacock-Farrell has come out with some strong comments that he may have to leave Elland Road if he isn’t playing.

The Northern Ireland international has had a taste of regular first-team action with 41 senior appearances for Leeds and is making a bold decision this summer.

“If I stay at Leeds I’ll be staying at Leeds to play,” the 22-year-old said,” Peacock-Farrell said, as quoted by Yahoo Sport.

“The two scenarios would probably be I’m staying at Leeds and I’m playing or I’ll have to be elsewhere I think.”

TBR’s View:

Peacock-Farrell has been bold with his comments about his future, but you have to admire his bravery and desire to play.

He’s certainly a promising talent to come out of the academy and the steps look there for him to become the number one in the future.

But Casilla will surely get another crack in goal at the start of next season and the 22-year-old will have to be patient if he sticks around Leeds.

There will surely be a lot of interest in the shot-stopper if he is to leave, as he’s got immense potential and is still developing into the finished article.
