'Something is achieveable': Journalist says 'extraordinary' £40m-rated star is likely for Liverpool
Journalist Graham Bailey has told TEAMtalk that Sofyan Amrabat is the most likely player to sign for Liverpool during January. The Reds have been linked with several new players and could attack the market next month.
Big-name stars like Jude Bellingham and Enzo Fernandez have been linked. Both players shone at the World Cup but are more likely to be summer additions for Liverpool, with the finances astronomic on those deals.
Amrabat could be obtainable for Liverpool, however. The Reds are in need of some new players and a player with the work rate and sheer determination of the Fiorentina man could be ideal.
The player shone at the World Cup. He helped Morocco create history, as they became the first country from Africa to reach the last four of the competition.
Amrabat typically operates in midfield. He’s defence-minded but is capable of also playing through the lines. As a result, he could be ideal for the style of play that Jurgen Klopp deploys at Anfield.
Bailey believes the deal is a possibility and told TEAMtalk: “The most likely option for January at this point looks like being Sofyan Amrabat. Fiorentina have said they’re not looking to sell. But, that’s not what his agents are saying as they are making it clear they believe something is achievable.”

The talented performer looks like a nice fit for Liverpool. He works hard, gets stuck in and would be comfortable playing as part of a midfield three.
Amrabat’s stock will have definitely risen after the World Cup. He was outstanding for Morocco as they captured the hearts of their supporters.
His current club definitely won’t want to sell Amrabat. However, it’s claimed that a bid in the region of £40 million could bring the player to Anfield.
Luis Enrique was a huge fan of Amrabat at the World Cup. After Morocco knocked Spain out, he called him ‘extraordinary’ for his display.
As a result, he could be capable of making a real impact at Anfield should the club get something over the line.
