Aymeric Laporte has told Sky Sports that Mikel Arteta is amongst the best people he has met since moving to England, and predicted that the Arsenal boss will enjoy a great managerial career.
Arteta was preparing for his first return to the Etihad Stadium this week since moving to the Emirates. However, the Gunners’ clash with Manchester City has been postponed for a second time.

The Spaniard may be disappointed to miss out on the chance to see some familiar faces. And it appears that Laporte will share a familiar feeling as he lauded the former Cityzens coach before the game’s postponement was announced.
“Mikel is a great coach and, for me for example, he’s one of the best people I’ve met here in Manchester,” he told Sky Sports.

“He tried to help the players all the time. He had a very good relationship with everyone, with me especially. I think he’s a great manager and he will make great things in his coaching career.”
Arteta has certainly made a bright start to life back at the Emirates. There may still be problems to address. But he has definitely made progress.
Arsenal have not been beaten in a domestic game since the turn of the year. They have clearly improved defensively since Arteta’s arrival.
And they have the attacking players to cause any team a number of problems. The Gunners appear to be, gradually, moving in a very exciting direction with Arteta at the helm.
But of course, it remains to be seen how Arsenal get on during the rest of the season following Wednesday’s postponement.
