‘Awful’: Liverpool fans tear into Mohamed Salah for performance

Liverpool suffered a 2-1 defeat away to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League group stages on Wednesday night – and some of the club’s supporters ripped into Mohamed Salah for his individual performance.

Jurgen Klopp’s side were beaten by the French champions, which means they need to beat Napoli in the final group game by a two-goal margain to qualify for the knockout rounds.

PSG were quick out the blocks in the first-half with goals from Juan Bernat and Neymar, but James Milner gave the Merseyside club a lifeline just before half-time with a penalty.

The Reds were unable to break down the PSG defence in the second period and it was a frustrating night for them in the French capital.

A selection of Liverpool fans singled out attacker Salah for criticism following his influence on the game.

The 26-year-old right-winger struggled to make a serious impact in the final third and was unable to carve out any serious goalscoring opportunities.

He has scored nine goals in 19 appearances across all competitions this season, but the expectation around him now is so high after his sensational 44-goal return in the last campaign.
