Some Newcastle United fans have been reacting on social media to reports by Wales Online that Steve Bruce’s side are interested in signing Cardiff City midfielder Will Vaulks.
The Toon are said to be among a raft of suitors monitoring the Bluebirds star, as Vaulks has caught the attention of prospective clubs with his eye-catching goals and tough tackling.
Vaulks has also offered the Championship outfit an added weapon through his long throws, while proving to be one of their most consistent performers in a season that has seen Mick McCarthy replace Neil Harris at the helm.

McCarthy has been awash with praise for Vaulks since his arrival at the Cardiff City Stadium, describing him as a “fabulous” player in February and noting: “He has a real leadership, without being captain.”
Vaulks has only missed one game under the former Republic of Ireland head coach, and has struck three of his five goals plus both of his assists for the season to help the Bluebirds rise up the table but just miss out on a Play-Off position.
Newcastle could face competition for the 27-year-old’s signature from Premier League-bound Norwich City and Championship-bound Sheffield United, with the Daily Mail previously citing the pair as potential suitors for a £7million transfer.
Here’s how these Newcastle fans reacted to their side’s reported interest in Vaulks…
