Tottenham Hotspur face West Ham in the EFL Cup tomorrow, just two days after their 1-0 loss to Manchester City.
This tough schedule will be hard for the Spurs players to cope with but it gives Mauricio Pochettino the chance to rotate his troops.
Some fringe players will get chances to stake first-team claims at Tottenham.
And after Kieran Trippier’s mistake led to Manchester City’s winner yesterday, could Serge Aurier break back into the side at right-back?
The Ivory Coast international has been back-up to Trippier for most of his Spurs career but he has a chance now to get back into the side.
However, if he is selected to play West Ham tomorrow, he will be hoping for better fortunes at The London Stadium.

Last season, early on in his Tottenham career, Aurier received a red card against West Ham in a Premier League game in East London.
That reckless act nearly cost Spurs, who were cruising at 3-0 in that game. Aurier’s red card buoyed the Hammers in the rival clash and they brought it back to 3-2.
Tottenham cannot afford for Aurier to be quite so reckless when they face West Ham tomorrow.
The EFL Cup presents Tottenham with a genuine chance of winning silverware. But West Ham will be well up for the test tomorrow under the lights.
Aurier has a point to prove. But the 25-year-old needs to show that he can keep his composure in this derby match.
