Lyon’s president Jean-Michel Aulas has stated Moussa Dembele will be going nowhere this month, following recent speculation linking the striker with a move to Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United.
The outspoken 70-year-old has shut down talk of the star leaving the club in January, telling RMC Sport: “We have not changed our minds. We already made this issue clear in August.
“Moussa is an excellent player. A player who we need.

“We are taking explicit measures in our recruitment to not bring someone in who will compete for his position. It is not a question of money. Moussa will be with us.”
Dembele is enjoying a great season over in Ligue 1 having scored 14 goals in 28 appearances in all competitions so far in 2019/20.
His goals have helped Lyon become the third-highest scorers in the division, and his contributions have led to talk of a possible transfer.
Newcastle’s interest was reported recently by The Daily Star, while Goal claim Spurs are keen on the 23-year-old.

Manchester United and Chelsea have also been linked with a move for the former Celtic ace.
It would appear though, after Aulas’ latest comments, that the interested parties will have to look elsewhere this month for extra firepower.
TBR’s view – Blow for Newcastle and Tottenham
Aulas’ comments may come as a disappointment to Newcastle and Tottenham, with both clubs needing another striker.

The Magpies have been somewhat toothless this term with record signing Joelinton having largely struggled, and Spurs have talisman Harry Kane out injured until April.
Dembele continues to improve over in France and would have been an ideal January addition.
