Arsenal under-23s played out an entertaining 2-2 draw against Everton under-23s at the Emirates Stadium on Friday night. Despite dominating the game, a late Everton goal saw the Gunners come away from the Premier League 2 match with just one point to show for their efforts.
However, the home side did produce the standout moment of the game. Arsenal took the lead early in the first half via a stunning effort from Tyreece John-Jules. A raking long ball found the attacker in the box, and the 18-year-old forward volleyed the ball first time with the outside of his foot, to lob the ‘keeper and find the back of the net.
It was a brilliant goal and an indication of the talent that the young Englishman possesses. The striker is certainly a prospect with huge potential. Unai Emery will likely be keeping a keen eye on the development of the promising youngster. The Spanish coach has shown plenty of faith in young players in his time in charge of the club, and John-Jules could be the next academy starlet to be integrated into the first team.
Following the clash with Everton’s academy outfit, plenty of Arsenal fans took to Twitter to praise John-Jules’ stunning contribution to the match.
