It’s only a couple of months on from Arsenal allowing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang sign for Barcelona and his form has caused some to question the Gunners’ decision.

Aubameyang has hit the ground running with eight goals in his first 11 games while in Spain. His form has been outstanding and coincided with a sharp uptick for Barca in terms of their long-term vision under Xavi. Of course, Arsenal are doing well too. But that hasn’t stopped some questioning whether letting Aubameyang go was indeed smart business.

At the time of him leaving, Aubameyang had been dropped and stripped of the captaincy at the club. Claims and reports from the club had suggested ‘Auba’ wasn’t displaying the right off-field attitude to lead the Gunners.

However, just a few months have gone by and reports coming out of Barcelona are very different. According to Goal, things couldn’t be any different when it comes to Aubameyang and his attitude.

Goal’s report claims Barca staff are hugely impressed with the striker. That includes his attitude off the field and how he is approaching training. He is said to be leading by example, something he didn’t do at Arsenal it seems.

TBR’s View: Arsenal Should Have No Aubameyang Regrets

Sometimes, a move happens and it just suits everybody and that’s how it feels with Aubameyang and Arsenal here.

The Gunners needed him off the books, Barca needed a striker, and Aubameyang a change of scenery. In a way, it’s nice to hear that the Gabon star has actually turned things around again.

For Arsenal, this would only be an issue if they were struggling. But they aren’t. They are flying under Arteta and have looked a better side without Aubameyang. All in all, this deal worked for everyone and in football, that’s just the way it goes sometimes.
