Athletico Paranaense’s president Mario Celso Petraglia has confirmed Arsenal have been monitoring midfielder Bruno Guimaraes.
The Gunners are said to be lining up a summer move for the Brazil U23 international, who is also apparently interesting Chelsea.

Guimaraes made 25 appearances in the Brazilian Serie A last year and caught the eye with several strong performances at the base of the team’s midfield.
The combative and tenacious 22-year-old’s stock has been rising, and Petraglia has now validated claims of interest from the Gunners.
He told O Jogo: “Arsenal are interested, but will only make an offer towards the end of the season.”

Speaking about his future in a press conference, Guimaraes himself said: “I am focused exclusively on selection and I ask my advisors to tell me little of what is going on. And the little I knew was that there were contacts.”
According to a report from Goal Brazil, Athletico would accept around £21 million for the youngster.

The 2019 summer signing from Ituano, now 18, has been a breath of fresh air for the Gunners this term despite the collective struggles of the team.
