Seamus Coleman has been a fantastic servant for Everton over the years but the Irishman but the right-back turns 33 at the beginning of next season and the Toffees need to a replacment – and a Tottenham Hotspur star is the ideal man to come in.

Mason Holgate and Ben Godfrey are naturally better in the middle of the defence and should not be considered starting right-backs on Merseyside, while Jonjoe Kenny is on loan at Celtic and not fancied by Carlo Ancelotti after sanctioning his move.

The perfect man to solve Everton’s issues on the right side of the defence has come to light. French website RMC Sport claim that Mauricio Pochettino’s PSG, Atletico Madrid and AC Milan are interested in signing Tottenham’s Serge Aurier.

The 28-year-old is about to enter the last 12 months of his contract at Spurs but it is his release clause that should encourage Everton – among other clubs. It is believed the Ivory Coast captain has an £8.5million clause in his current Spurs deal.

Everton have spent a fortune over the past couple of seasons, bringing in big-money signings such as Allan, Abdoulaye Doucoure, Jean-Philippe Gbamin, Moise Kean, Ben Godfrey, James Rodriguez and even Ancelotti himself.

With finances perhaps tighter than normal on Merseyside, they could do with solving the issue at right-back slightly on the cheap and Aurier is the perfect addition for the Toffees this summer – one of Lucas Digne’s former teammates at PSG.
