At just £6m, Leeds have to back in for West Ham-linked midfielder

Leeds United were linked with a number of players in the January transfer window and one of those names was Stuttgart’s on-loan midfielder Stuart Zuber – and now, he could be available again.

Zuber, 27, joined Stuttgart in January on loan from Hoffenheim, and has shone for the Bundesliga outfit ever since. He has scored five goals in just 13 appearances, as well as laying on an assist.

German newspaper Bild have claimed that Leeds wanted to lure the 23-time Switzerland international to Elland Road in January, but they failed to do so. Now, they could get a second chance.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, West Ham United want to sign Zuber with only 12 months remaining on his contract. French side OGC Nice, Italian clubs Lazio and AS Roma are also interested.

But one aspect may tempt Leeds into reigniting their January interest, and that is that Zuber is said to be available for a bargain £6million this summer – and Leeds surely have to rejoin the race for his signature.

Zuber is the perfect player for Marcelo Bielsa. The Argentine boss likes players with plenty of quality, but one that can offer that quality in multiple positions. Zuber can play out wide, central midfield and in the 10 role.

At just £6million, Zuber is an enormous bargain. Leeds are now set to remain in the Championship for another season, but even that figure is achievable for the Whites if owner Andrea Radrizzani remains in control.

Though the competition is likely to outweight the Yorkshire club, Leeds have got to try and bring Zuber to Elland Road. With Bielsa in charge, anything can happen.
