At just £25m, Paratici has got to sign Juventus star for Tottenham that Nuno wanted at Wolves in 2020

Back in 2020, new Tottenham boss Nuno Espirito Santo wanted Juventus ace Merih Demiral to Wolves. TuttoSport claim he had a bid rejected for the Turkey player, and he remained with the Old Lady. Now, that defender is available on the cheap and both he and Fabio Paratici have to sign him.

Demiral, 23, has only managed 32 appearances for Juventus in two seasons. Having suffered an anterior cruciate ligament in his first season and playing just eight times, he then played 24 times for Juventus in 2020-21. But numerous injuries and a positive test limited him to that number of games.

However, in those matches, Demiral has impressed. TuttoMercatoWeb now claim that Juventus have slapped a £25million price tag on his head. It is a fee that is affordable and a decent figure for a player that has enormous potential. Tottenham, meanwhile, need a commanding centre-back.

Demiral to Tottenham makes sense, with Nuno and Paratici in place

A centre-back should be at the top of Tottenham’s agenda. Davinson Sanchez’s error-prone performances almost saw him single-handedly be responsible for a goal every game. Eric Dier has been inconsistent, Toby Alderweireld is past it and Joe Rodon and Japhet Tanganga are young.

How England Caused Germany's 2014 World Cup Win

Spurs need a commanding, powerhouse, leader of a centre-back this summer, but with other areas requiring strengthening, they need to keep their spending to a minimum. So, Demiral at £25million, is a bargain. With Nuno a fan, Paratici needs to raid his old side and get him quickly.
