At a bargain £15m, West Ham have got to consider move for Arsenal player

West Ham United failed to sign a striker in the January transfer window despite tabling offers for Sevilla’s Youssef En-Nesyri but this summer, surely the perfect option is residing in London – at neighbours Arsenal, in the form of Alexandre Lacazette.

Selling Sebastian Haller and failing to replace the big Frenchman has left West Ham without a back-up striker for Michail Antonio, who is getting older and has always been somewhat prone to injury. The Hammers desperately need back-up.

Haller has since scored 10 goals in 16 Ajax appearances, while also creating six more – but it just did not work for Haller at The Emirates. West Ham need a striker, and a recent report makes Lacazette the absolutely perfect option for the Hammers.

The Telegraph claim Arsenal are trying to sign Celtic’s Odsonne Edouard for a figure between £15million and £20million and need to raise funds for the ex-PSG man. It is claimed Arsenal will sell Lacazette for a figure in a similar region to that fee.

Lacazette, 29, has scored 15 goals in 37 games for Arsenal but has four in his last three games. While he has not been consistent throughout the season, he is certainly worth more than £15million – but could cost up to £20million.

Easily affordable, Lacazette would offer plenty of Premier League experience – something which Edouard does not. For a fee of just £15million, West Ham are not going to be able to buy a new striker that has the kind of proven quality Lacazette boasts.

With West Ham fighting to qualify for the Champions League, signing a player of Lacazette’s quality would give them the tools required to have a good go in Europe while remaining competitive in the Premier League. A no-brainer, at that price.
