BBC pundit Garth Crooks has been left stunned by what’s happened to Dan Burn since signed for Newcastle United.
Burn completed a £13 million switch to Newcastle from Brighton back in January (Sky Sports) and has been ever present in Eddie Howe’s side.
The 30-year-old is a natural centre-back but has been playing at left-back after the arrival of Sven Botman over the summer.
The Englishman has been equally as impressive while playing as a full-back and Crooks has been amazed at how he’s developed since moving to St James’ Park.

Crooks left stunned by Burn
Crooks selected Burn in his Premier League Team of the Week after Newcastle’s 2-1 win over Spurs yesterday.
The pundit was full of praise for the former Brighton man and hailed the impact he’s had on Newcastle’s defence.
“I have become a big fan of Dan Burn since his arrival at St James’ Park,” Crooks told the BBC.
“The development in this defender since he left Brighton has been quite astonishing. He can play as a full-back, which is quite impressive for such a tall individual, or a centre-half.
“He was brought to Newcastle by Eddie Howe and has been ever present since his arrival. Against Spurs he was dependable as ever alongside Fabian Schar and Sven Botman in a Newcastle defence that is looking meaner with every game.”

Burn put in yet another impressive display from left-back yesterday as Newcastle managed to hold on to beat Spurs.
The Magpies boast the best defensive record in the Premier League and have only conceded ten goals this season.
Burn has played a huge part in their defensive solidarity and has been a really astute signing for Howe.
Newcastle have now won four out of their last five games in the league and sit fourth in the table. They haven’t lost since their 2-1 defeat at Anfield in August and their solid backline has been a key reason for their recent success.
