Aston Villa are reportedly interested in a move for Juventus goalkeeper Mattia Perin. As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, Juventus sporting director Fabio Paratici is reportedly in England discussing a potential deal.
Perin has dropped further down the pecking order at Juventus this summer after the return of Gianluigi Buffon. The Italian is now third-choice behind the legendary stopper and Polish star Wojciech Szczesny.
Aston Villa have been looking for a new keeper all summer with the likes of Jack Butland, Neil Etheridge and Tom Heaton all previously linked. A move for Perin, who has two caps for Italy, would certainly be welcomed.

But it would also, it seems, be a risk.
Perin should have already secured his exit from Juventus this summer. Earlier this week, it looked as though the 26-year-old was all set to join Benfica.
As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Benfica had agreed a deal to sign Perin from Juventus for €15 million (£13.4m) last week.
However, A Bola reported that the deal collapsed over a shoulder injury detected in his Benfica medical. The report claimed that Juventus offered him on loan until the winter, when a deal could then be made permanent, as a compromise. However, Benfica refused and pulled the plug altogether.
Aston Villa will no doubt do their own, thorough, medical examination on the player. But considering their recent bad luck with goalkeepers, surely Aston Villa will not be willing to take a big risk with the Italian.
