Aston Villa are set to sign Club Brugge striker Wesley Moraes for £23 million, according to Belgian outlet HLN.
The 22-year-old will pen a five-year deal at Villa Park, becoming the first Brazilian to ever play for the club.
It is thought that Bayer Leverkusen were also interested in his services, but his desire to play in the Premier League has given Villa the edge.
Moraes was in superb form last season. In 48 games for the Belgian giants, he netted 17 goals and contributed 10 assists.
It was vital that Villa replaced the goals scored by Tammy Abraham last season, with the England Under-21 star now back at Chelsea.
Moraes comes with a glowing reference from Belgian football experts and it is hoped he will have a significant impact.
Signing him this early could prove a masterstroke by boss Dean Smith. Moraes will now have the entire summer to get used to his new surroundings and work with his new team-mates.
Villa fans, in the main, are absolutely delighted.
Several supporters have taken to Twitter to praise the work of the club for getting this deal over the line.
We looked at what people of a Villa persuasion were saying as the club prepares to announce the signing of Moraes:
If this Moraes transfer rumour is in fact true it would be very reminiscent of the @chrisbenteke deal. No one knew anything about him coming from Belgium, a lot of people questioned the signing and by the end of the season he’d cemented himself as a [email protected] favourite

Won't profess to know a lot about Moraes – £22m is a lot of money on someone eho has scored around 1:3 gl:gm but trust what DS is doing.
Looks a real physical presence though #avfc

If this signing of Wesley Moraes is confirmed, it would suggest Tammy is not coming back? #AVFC

Know nothing about Moraes, what's impressive however is our new found ability just to drop 22 million. Like this is legit. #avfc

He looked decent and scored a couple of goals in the champions league this season. Only 22 as well. If this is true it could be a great signing.

Great to be signing young players with potential rather than over paid Premier league journeymen.
