Aston Villa have confirmed the arrival of experienced goalkeeper Tom Heaton. The club broke the news on their official website and the three-cap England international has arrived from Premier League rivals, Burnley.
A fee of £8 million was agreed between the two clubs yesterday, according to BBC Sport.
Heaton ends a six-year association with the Clarets. He leaves having won promotion twice and having led the Clarets into European football.

The 33-year-old takes Villa’s summer spending to just shy of £123 million, as they prepare for their maiden campaign back in the top-flight.
Heaton certainly represents a solid signing for boss Dean Smith. The agile custodian is proven at Premier League level and boasts a wealth of experience.
The former Manchester United trainee played 200 games for Burnley and was Sean Dyche’s captain.
Jed Steer was the club’s number one during Villa’s run towards promotion last season, but Heaton will now surely be the number one stopper.

The model professional is Smith’s 12th summer recruit but the fee paid does seem a steal given Heaton’s undoubted quality.
Following the announcement, Villa fans took to Twitter to give their opinion on the signing.
Here is a selection of tweets from the club’s supporter who were quick to welcome their new arrival to the club:
