Aston Villa have reportedly tabled an offer to sign Inter Milan midfielder Matias Vecino but face competition from West Ham United ahead of the January transfer window – and Villa supporters have reacted on Twitter.
Vecino, 29, has failed to feature for Antonio Conte’s Inter this season as he continues to overcome a long-term knee injury. The Uruguay international last took to the field competitively in July, and Inter need to raise funds.
The likes of Christian Eriksen and other Inter fringe players could leave the club – and Vecino is on that list. The £21.5million (Goal) signing is said to have offers on the table from the Premier League ahead of the January window.

Indeed, CalcioMercato say both Aston Villa and West Ham are interested in signing the midfielder in the coming weeks. Whether such a move would see Vecino move to England on loan or permanently, remains to be seen.
Villa have the likes of Douglas Luiz, John McGinn and Ross Barkley but may feel they need to strengthen their competition. West Ham, meanwhile, have just Declan Rice, Mark Noble and Tomas Soucek as options in midfield.
Villa supporters reacted on Twitter to the reported news that their club have tabled an offer to sign Vecino in the coming weeks – and the majority are keen to see the Uruguayan in the Midlands.
Some, though, are wary of his age and injury problems.
