Newcastle United have completed the signing of Anthony Elanga from Nottingham Forest, and plenty of his peers – including Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers – are buzzing.
On Friday, Newcastle announced the arrival of Elanga on a long-term contract, having agreed a deal with Nottingham Forest reportedly worth £55million.
The 23-year-old is Newcastle’s second summer signing following Antonio Cordero’s move to St James’ Park from Malaga.
Elanga took to Instagram in the wake of his official arrival at Newcastle, and Rogers was among many who responded in the comments.

Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers wishes Anthony Elanga good luck at Newcastle
Anthony Elanga shared a number of photos of himself completing his Newcastle move, along with the caption: “I’m a Geordie now!
“Happy to be here at this great club but more importantly I’m ready. Can’t wait to see you all. Let’s get to work!”
In response, Morgan Rogers wrote: “Good luck my boy”. He also included a red heart emoji.
The likes of Bruno Guimaraes, Jacob Murphy, Joelinton, Fabian Schar, Joe Willock, Antoine Semenyo and Patson Daka also wished Elanga well following his move.

Rogers and Elanga have never actually played together, but both were in the running for the latest Premier League Young Player of the Season award, which was won by Liverpool’s Ryan Gravenberch.
