Ivan Cavaleiro has completed a permanent move to Fulham from Wolverhampton Wanderers after starting for the London side on loan this season – and an Aston Villa defender has applauded Cavaleiro on Instagram.
Cavaleiro, 26, joined Scott Parker’s Fulham in the summer on a season-long loan after falling down the pecking order with Wolves. He has since impressed at Craven Cottage, having a hand in 11 goals during 25 Championship appearances. He has scored five and created six.
That has seemingly convinced Fulham to exercise the permanent option in his loan deal. The Express & Star claim Fulham have splashed out a huge £15million to sign Cavaleiro permanently, which is a real sign of intent from the Championship promotion contenders.
Following confirmation of the move, Cavaleiro posted a heartfelt farewell to Wolves fans on Instagram. The Portugal international was close to the Wolves support, after more than three years at the club and 106 appearances.
Cavaleiro played alongside centre-back Kortney Hause during his time at Molineux, with the duo combining to help send Wolves back into the Premier League following the appointment of Nuno Espírito Santo.
Hause, who has since moved to Premier League new boys Aston Villa – despite the rivalry between the two Midlands clubs – congratulated Cavaleiro on Instagram for completing his £15million move.
