Aston Villa have been linked with various wingers this summer. The Villans have already signed Jota from Birmingham City. But they want another player in this department.
Despite wanting Anwar El Ghazi back, Aston Villa need to sign a new winger because Albert Adomah has been released. This would leave Jota, El Ghazi and Andre Green.
In the past few weeks, Aston Villa have been linked with Joe Lolley. But Nottingham Forest will demand £15m for their prized winger, according to The Sun (via HITC).
At that price, Aston Villa need to start considering alternative targets. And two other Championship wingers could be good signings for Aston Villa.
Said Benrahma, who was brought to England by Dean Smith, is reportedly a target. According to Le10Sport, Aston Villa have launched an £8.9m bid for the Algeria international.
If Aston Villa can prise him away from the Bees for this price, he would be considered a snip. The 23-year-old scored 11 goals and provided 17 assists in his first season in England. At such a young age, he could get even better as he steps up to the top-flight.
Alternatively, Jarrod Bowen would be a shrewd acquisition. The 22-year-old made his name when he scored against Aston Villa on the first day of the 2017/18 season.
And two seasons later, he has scored 37 goals in 99 games for the Tigers. After netting 22 times in 46 games from the wing, Bowen has proven that he is too good for the Championship.
Aston Villa should look to offer him the chance to step up and play Premier League football. He is the type of young and hungry winger who could take Villa to new heights.
