Collins linked

According to the Birmingham Mail, Aston Villa could be set to move for free agent James Collins.

The veteran defender is currently unattached after leaving West Ham this summer.

Collins has supposedly been discussed by Villa officials, but ‘no contact’ has yet been made.

Collins, of course, played for Villa between 2009-2012.

He would certainly bring leadership and a wealth of experience to the dressing room.

The Welshman would make for a good alternative to John Terry.

Instagram hints

And speaking of John Terry, the Chelsea legend has taken to Instagram to hint he could return to Villa Park.

Terry left Villa following the club’s failed promotion bid at the end of last season, but it would appear club officials are considering bringing him back.

And Terry has added fuel to the fire himself by putting out a rather cryptic social media post.

He uploaded a photo on Instagram of his children going back to school with the caption ‘Back To School and Back to…. For me.’

Only time will tell if he is indeed implying a return to the Midlands club.

Elmohamady to full-back?

With the loan arrival of Yannick Bolasie from Everton, the Birmingham Mail has suggested Ahmed Elmohamady could revert back to right-back.

The Egyptian has been playing more advanced, but winger Bolasie’s return might prompt a reshuffle.

Axel Tuanzebe may shift across to central defence, Mile Jedinak back to midfield with Elmohamady reverting back to full-back and Alan Hutton on the left.
