Aston Villa are one of three clubs who want to sign Daniel Sturridge to boost their firepower, according to Turkish outlet Fanatik.
Sturridge joined Turkish side Trabzonspor in the summer after being released by Liverpool but Villa, as well as Russian duo CSKA and Lokomotiv Moscow are also keen on a swoop.
The report says that the club do not want to sell Sturridge, who is seen as something of a star player, but his injury record and salary of 3.5 million euros (£3 million) per year mean they are open to the possibility.
Any potential deal still has a lot of work to do before it is completed and the Turkish club apparently don’t want to offload him before the end of the season at the earliest.

TBR’s View – Sturridge looks an outside bet and his injury problems haven’t gone away
As per Transfermarkt, Sturridge has made just 13 appearances across all competitions this season because his fitness issues have not completely cleared up.
He was brought to West Brom on loan in 2018, with the aim of returning to the Midlands, where he was born and saving the Baggies from relegation.
It didn’t work out like that, as he struggled to get fit and West Brom went down to the Championship.
The report indicates there would be a lot of work to do this week to get Sturridge over the line before the deadline and his injury record means he remains a risk for Villa.
