Aston Villa reportedly not interested in Rangers star Alfredo Morelos

Aston Villa are not interested in the signature of Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos, according to reports.

The Colombian striker has been in fine form this season, scoring 22 goals in 26 games for the club.

Steven Gerrard has also managed to tame the striker, whose disciplinary record was a major concern last season. Now, the Ibrox striker looks to be the whole package and that has seen plenty of clubs linked with his signature.

Aston Villa are one such club. As reported by The Scottish Sun, Aston Villa and Crystal Palace are said to both be keen on the player, valued at £20 million by the Glasgow side.

But the Daily Record has suggested otherwise. They claim that there ‘is no interest’ from Aston Villa in signing the Rangers striker.

TBR’s View

It is great news for Rangers fans whilst Aston Villa fans will not be surprised. The club invested heavily in Brazilian striker Wesley Moraes in the summer. The recently capped Selecao star cost a fee reportedly (Daily Mail) worth in the region of £22 million and Dean Smith will undoubtedly be looking to give him a chance to shine at Villa Park.

As for Rangers, they are adamant that Morelos is going nowhere in January. However, they will have to admit it is looking increasingly difficult to keep hold of the Colombian past the end of the season considering his current form for the club.

Next summer, it will be interesting to see if Aston Villa’s position remains the same.
