Aston Villa are in something of a predicament at the back-line. Steve Bruce struggled to replace John Terry and Chris Samba this summer.
In recent weeks, Mile Jedinak has been playing at the heart of defence and fans at Villa Park have been less than impressed by Australian and they allowed Tommy Elphick to leave on loan.
It has led them to be linked with a number of free agents as they look short at central defence.
So perhaps they should actually be looking in the youth system?

Back in January of 2017 Aston Villa made an investment for the future, by signing defender Jacob Bedeau from Bury. The former Leyton Orient defender had been in fine form for the Shakers, despite being just 17. The Birmingham Mail reported that Villa spent around £900,000 bringing him to the club with the hope he could go on and become a future star at Villa Park.
Now then, would appear to be a better chance than ever to give Bedeau a chance.
He is a regular for the club’s under-23s and has even captained them on occasion.
Aston Villa should be ready to give their young players a chance and Bedeau represented a sizeable investment last January.
Now is the perfect time to give him a chance.
