Leicester City want to bring Aston Villa midfielder John McGinn to the King Power Stadium during the summer, according to the Daily Mirror.
They report that Brendan Rodgers’ appointment as Foxes manager will signal something of an overhaul and McGinn is among the names on the new boss’ shopping list.
And Rodgers has tried to sign McGinn before. Last summer, when McGinn was still at Hibernian, the Daily Record reported that Celtic were very keen indeed on the midfielder before they eventually lost out to Villa.
Celtic reportedly refused to budge in terms of their bid last summer but the increased spending power in the Premier League may help him succeed in his pursuit this time around.

As for Villa, McGinn has been hugely impressive since his summer arrival at Villa Park but they may find it difficult to keep the Scot at the club if they fail to get promoted this season.
Rodgers is in charge of a club with far greater spending power than Celtic had and the fact he has admired McGinn before may convince the midfielder to move across the Midlands to play for a manager who clearly covets him.
But the big draw – just like it was for Rodgers leaving Celtic – will be the opportunity to test himself in the Premier League and that lure may just prove too big to turn down.
