Callum O’Hare has been named the League Two Fans’ Player of the Month for April for his performances out on loan at Carlisle, as per the Brunton Park club’s official website.
The promising loanee scored twice that that has apparently caught the eye of supporters up and down the fourth tier as they voted him the best player in the division, earning him the final monthly award of the season.
Dean Smith will be pleased to see the youngster getting games and grabbing his opportunities during his temporary period away from the club.
But O’Hare has been an exciting prospect for a while now and Smith’s attractive football should suit him if he got a chance in the first team next season.

Obviously it’s tricky for Smith to come to any definitive decisions over the makeup of his squad for next season for as long as he doesn’t know which decision he’ll be managing in.
But O’Hare is the kind of direct, exciting threat Smith needs to be able to call upon, and if play-off heartbreak awaits Villa again this season, then the winger should definitely be part of the squad redoubling its efforts to return to the top flight.
