Andre Green is on loan in the Championship with Charlton Athletic and netted in their 2-1 victory over Barnsley on Saturday.
Lyle Taylor got the opening goal in the win and heaped praise on the Aston Villa loanee to the Addicks’ official website about his performance.
He said: “Me and Dre (Green) were a real handful and I have to heap praise on him because he had a tough week with family stuff. For him to turn up and do what he did, you can see what his goal meant to him, so it’s a massive, massive pat on the back for him.
“I started cramping just before half-time, then after half-time my legs were going. I couldn’t sustain that level of effort, but Dre did a lot of my running and fair play to the boy. He definitely deserved the goal.”

TBR’s View – Can Green help ease Villa’s striking issues next season?
Another year in the Championship is most likely what Green needed and the fact that he struggled to break into Preston’s team on a regular basis in the first half of the season indicates that he was very unlikely to be able to offer Villa a great deal in the Premier League.
But Villa fans are likely to be encouraged by the prospect of the striker working very hard and getting himself on the scoresheet.
They will of course hope they are not in the second tier by the time Green returns from his loan ahead of next season, and it is up to the 21-year-old to prove he is ready to help Villa and play in the top flight.
