Aston Villa came very close to landing Leroy Fer from Swansea City on deadline day in January but that move failed to materialise.
According to The Birmingham Mail, injury cost Fer his late January move to Aston Villa.
And perhaps this was a blessing in disguise for the Villans because Fer has not played a single game since the 29th January.
But now Fer is back and ready to return to the Swansea line-up for the remainder of the 2018/19 campaign.
Swansea have little to play for. The Swans currently sit 14th and will not be promotion candidates or in danger of relegation.

This gives Fer the chance to play without pressure and put himself back in the shop window.
The Dutchman’s contract is up in the summer so he is playing for his future, whether that is at Swansea, Aston Villa or elsewhere.
After missing more than two months with injury, Fer needs to get back to his best quickly to ensure he has options this summer.
When fully fit and in form, the 29-year-old is a strong ball-carrying box-to-box midfielder but he needs to prove this.
Could he find himself back on Aston Villa’s radar if he performs well between now and the end of the season?
