Aston Villa have been extremely active in this summer’s transfer window with Dean Smith adding 12 new players to his ranks.
It is the club’s maiden season back in the Premier League after they secured promotion via the play-offs during 2018/19.
Given the quality of players that Smith has added to his ranks, it is hoped that the club can stabilise as a top-flight outfit next season.

Despite getting their business done early, there is one piece of news to come out of Aston Villa on this transfer deadline day.
One of Villa’s star men from last season, John McGinn has put pen-to-paper on a new long-term contract at the Premier League newcomers.
The midfield ace signed for the Villans ahead of last season, joining from Hibernian for £2.75 million (The Scottish Sun).
In his maiden season playing English football, he proved a revelation. He scored nine goals and registered 12 assists as Villa marched towards promotion.

Today, a year after making his move to English football, McGinn has penned a brand new deal at Villa Park, as confirmed on the club’s official website.
Naturally the Villa faithful were delighted and have taken to Twitter to congratulate the club on tying down one of their best performers.
