Aston Villa made it four wins on the spin by beating Middlesbrough 3-0, jumping into the Championship play-off places in the process.

The win came at a canter for Dean Smith’s men with the goals coming from Anwar El Ghazi, John McGinn and Albert Adomah.

It comes on the back of wins against Derby County, Birmingham City and Nottingham Forest.

In truth, Smith has a squad that is the envy of several clubs in the division and they have underperformed this season.

It will take a very good side to stop the in-form Villans and they look very much like the team who are gaining momentum at the right time.

McGinn netted his third goal of the week in the win over Boro and his performance caught the eye once more.

The 24-year-old scored his fifth goal and claimed his ninth assist of an impressive maiden season in England.
