‘Not a chance’: Aston Villa fans react as James Chester is reportedly linked to Leeds

Aston Villa have been busy strengthening their squad ahead of their maiden campaign back in the Premier League.

Dean Smith’s team won promotion by beating Derby County in the Play-Off Final back in May.

Since then several new additions have arrived at the club, with their spending spree showing no signs of slowing down.

With that in mind, the Villa boss could well choose to offload some of his fringe players.

One of those could be defender James Chester who, according to the Daily Star, is attracting interest from Leeds United.

The Whites are keen to bolster their ranks ahead of another push towards promotion, with Chester on Bielsa’s shopping list.

With the 30-year-old out of contract during next summer, the Villans could well be willing to do a deal.

Chester is a popular figure at Villa Park and some supporters have taken to Twitter to offer their thoughts.

The general consensus is that the centre-back should be kept around the club – unless an astronomical offer is made by Leeds.

The Whites are reportedly preparing a £7.5 million bid but Villa fans are keen on their club doing business.
