Aston Villa are said to be prepared to let Henri Lansbury leave for ‘the right price’, according to a report by The Sun (Print Edition, 01/08; page 53).
A departure from Villa Park would end a truly hellish time at the club, following his £2.75 million move from Nottingham Forest (BBC Sport).
In over two years at the club, he has played just 35 times in the league, scoring two goals and registering three assists.
Lansbury arrived from Forest with a decent reputation in 2017 but several niggling injuries have curtailed his progress.

Although the 28-year-old has featured prominently during the club’s pre-season fixtures, it seems unlikely that he will play much next season.
Given how disappointing he has been at Villa, it would seem unlikely that Villa will receive what they paid for him.
Lansbury at Championship level has the potential to be a top player. At Forest, he played 150 games, scored 33 goals and was a popular figure among the club’s supporters.
Last season he managed just three Championship appearances, two as a substitute and one on the final day of the campaign in a defeat to Norwich City.
Villa have recruited 11 new players this summer and with Premier League clubs having to name a 25-man squad, the prospects of opportunities look bleak for the midfielder.
TBR Verdict
This will surely come as little surprise to Villa supporters or indeed Lansbury himself.

A fresh start would be the perfect situation for the 28-year-old and a clutch of second-tier clubs will undoubtedly be keen to take the player.
One problem may be his wages. The Birmingham Mail reported that the ex-Arsenal prospect is paid £40,000-a-week at Villa Park and that could deter lots of Championship clubs.
A loan move would be ideal and he would certainly bolster someone’s promotion chances should he rock up in the Championship.
