Jack Grealish may reportedly be set to start a third England game in a row – but some Aston Villa fans on Twitter have responded with fears over his fitness.
The 25-year-old has had to be extremely patient waiting for his chance on the international stage under Three Lions manager Gareth Southgate, but he’s seized his opportunity of late.
Villa’s captain played an hour last week during the friendly win against Republic of Ireland, as well as delivering a man of the match display at the weekend in the Nations League defeat to Belgium.
England host Iceland on Wednesday at Wembley Stadium in their final Nations League game and reports suggest Grealish will get his third start during this international break.
According to the Mirror, the creative playmaker will start against Iceland providing he can prove his fitness and he’s forced Southgate into performing a U-turn.
Grealish will have eyes on forcing his way into next summer’s England squad for the European Championships and knows he’s got competition from the likes of Raheem Sterling, Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho in his position.
The left-winger has earned his England chance due to his stunning Villa form this season, scoring five goals and supplying six assists in eight games across all competitions.

A selection of Villa supporters on social media are now worried about the workload on Grealish with him primed to start another match, especially as they host Brighton on Saturday afternoon in the Premier League.
