A number of Aston Villa fans have expressed a concern about Jack Grealish after the club posted an injury update on their official website.
Grealish has not played for the Villans since the 3-0 defeat to Manchester City. He was not missed in the Carabao Cup win over Wolves. But Dean Smith’s side have suffered two defeats since.
The club have provided an injury update on their official website. And, from the outside, it would appear that the update is an encouraging one. Villa have suggested that Grealish will return to training this week.
However, it appears that that has concerned a lot of supporters. Smith suggested, in comments reported by the Liverpool Echo, that he expected Grealish to be fit to face Liverpool at the start of the month.
He, of course, would not make that game. Nevertheless, the club suggested ahead of their league clash with Wolves that Grealish was expected to be back in training in the days before the game.
So with the Villans now providing a very similar update this time around, there is real concern about Grealish. The fans are clearly fearful that the club are hiding the severity of the captain’s problem, or, perhaps more worryingly, that Villa do not actually know how long he will be missing for.
The international break gives Villa some breathing space. But it does appear that some supporters are expecting to hear that Grealish will not be ready to face Newcastle in just under a fortnight.
Here is how some of the supporters reacted to the latest update…
That’s three weeks in a row Grealish has been about to start training 🤨

Thought grealish was back in training last week @AVFCOfficial

Worried about Jack tbh, starting to think this injury is much worse than they’re letting on, was meant to be back for Liverpool and now it seems he’s not even returned to training yet.

Now we know why Jack wasn’t called up. worse than they’re letting on?

How does Jack go from being “50/50” for last weeks game to “will make his return to training later” this week 🤷🏻♂️
