Ollie Watkins was once again superb this weekend as the Aston Villa man scored the game-winning goal in a 2-1 win against Tottenham.
The result sent Unai Emery’s side into the top-four for the first time in over a decade, with UEFA Champions League football firmly on the table for Villa if they keep up with this level of form.
And Watkins has been outstanding since Emery’s appointment, with pundit Matty Holland lauding the striker as ‘top-drawer’ yesterday after the attacker’s performance against Tottenham.

And video captured by NBC Sports Soccer showed the attacker’s good side, with Watkins shown giving his shirt to a fan in the away end as Villa supporters celebrated triumphantly in north London.
With seven goals and five assists now in the Premier League, Watkins is spearheading Villa back to the top of English football in emphatic fashion under Emery.
And the 27-year-old’s display against Tottenham was one of his best of the season to date, with Watkins showing the sort of form that could make Villa worried that rival clubs are now sniffing around.
Ollie Watkins showed world-class skills for Aston Villa in Tottenham win

It might be strange to laud another English striker not named Harry Kane as ‘world-class’, but the form Watkins is currently in under Emery could prove differently.
The former Brentford star has been electric this season and is a key reason why Villa have been as good as they are this campaign, with Champions League football now a realistic goal.
And for some, Watkins is creeping into the category of ‘world-class’, with the forward’s driving runs and excellent finishes from tight angles something that Premier League defenders are struggling to handle.
Indeed, the sky is the limit for Watkins and Villa, and the pairing are now starting to look like a match made in heaven with Emery the architecture of such a marriage.
