Aston Villa fans want Kortney Hause to replace injured Tyrone Mings

Aston Villa travel to Sheffield United on Saturday afternoon in the Premier League – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter have suggested that defender Kortney Hause is drafted into the team.

The Midlands club are without key centre-back Tyrone Mings due to a hamstring injury (official Twitter), which he picked up during the defeat to Leicester City last weekend.

Dean Smith’s side travel to Bramall Lane in need of a positive result, as they are only above the relegation places on goal difference as it stands in the Premier League.

Manager Smith does have a big decision to make over who he lines up in the heart of his defence and does have a few options.

Bjorn Engels and Ezri Konsa appear to be the frontrunners to start the game, but a selection of supporters on social media have rallied to claim that Hause should replace Mings.

Hause has impressed during the club’s Carabao Cup run to the quarter-finals so far this season, but has been overlooked for the league.

The 24-year-old is quality centre-back that is left-footed and seems a natural replacement for Mings in the defence.

But he’s remarkably never played a minute of Premier League football in his career and it would be a top-flight debut if he gets a chance against Sheffield United.
