Aston Villa fans want ‘excellent’ 21-year-old PL star they are linked with
Aston Villa are reportedly interested in Burnley star Dwight McNeil – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter are excited about the links to him.
According to the Athletic, Villa have “serious interest” in the 21-year-old.
It is understood Dean Smith’s side are joined by three other clubs that are eyeing him, and he will not come cheap this summer.
The report adds that monitoring the Premier League winger has no bearing on the future of Villa captain Jack Grealish.
McNeil, who earns £47,000-a-week, is one of the real stars at Turf Moor.
The left-footed winger has helped Burnley secure another season in the Premier League, scoring two goals and supplying five assists in return.
He’s a nailed-on starter in Sean Dyche’s side. Despite not being a regular goalscorer yet, the England Under-21 international is a massive talent.
A selection of Villa supporters on social media believe he would be a brilliant signing.
Aston Villa target McNeil has so much potential
Aged 21, McNeil has already gone past 100 first-team appearances for Burnley.
The left-winger is blessed with pace and trickery. On top of that, the energy and defensive work he gets through during 90 minutes makes him a manager’s dream. His potential is unreal.
If his end product sharpens up, he’ll be spoken about far more by Premier League supporters across the country.
