Aston Villa have confirmed that attacker Keinan Davis is back in training – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter expressed their delighted with the injury boost.
The 21-year-old has been absent since the end of October with a hamstring problem and has had some tough luck with injuries already in his young career.
He’s played in only nine first-team games this campaign across all competitions and become somewhat of a forgotten man.
Vila confirmed (official Twitter) on Thursday that the centre-forward is back in training.
A selection of Villa supporters on social media are excited about the prospect of Davis returning to the team and he will give them more options in attack.
The English striker can offer a physical presence with his size and he can compete with January signing Mbwana Samatta.
Dean Smith’s side are in the thick of a relegation battle in the Premier League this campaign and Davis will hope he can play a role in the second half of the season.
It will be intriguing to see how far off playing the youngster is, but he certainly shouldn’t be rushed back given his track record of injuries.
Here are some Villa fans commenting on Davis:
Very happy to see this.

Good news. No strikers, then two come along at once. The boy needs a decent run without injury if he’s to fulfil his obvious potential #avfc

Finally, this will be like a new signing for him to be back
