Aston Villa fans rip into ‘nightmare’ Neil Taylor after West Brom draw

Aston Villa drew 2-2 against West Brom on Friday in the Championship – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter criticised defender Neil Taylor for the quality of his performance.

Villa led twice courtesy of goals from Anwar El Ghazi, but a late controversial equaliser that struck West Brom’s Jay Rodriguez on the hand denied them all three league points.

The Midlands giants are now on a six-game unbeaten run in the league and are sitting just outside of the top-six positions.

Taylor is one of the players to benefit massively from the arrival of manger Dean Smith midway through the season and has managed to cement his position in the starting XI.

The 29-year-old left-back was once again involved in the team against West Brom and did encounter some difficult defensive moments against Matt Phillips.

He was then forced off early in the second-half with an injury and may have been delighted to get off the pitch.

Taylor was absent for at the back post for Dwight Gayle’s goal when he was unable to track back with him and has more of a licence to drive forward in attack.

A selection of Villa fans on social media tore into Taylor for his Friday display and believe the full-back was ripped apart.
