Some Aston Villa fans have taken to social media to comment on Mick McCarthy throwing his name into the hat for the managerial vacancy at their club.
Villa parted ways with under-fire Steve Bruce on Wednesday after a string of poor results.
Bruce was axed after recording just one win in nine games, and the search is now on for a new manager.

He had come under increasing pressure from the Villa fans, one of whom launched a cabbage at the 57-year-old in what turned out to be his final outing against Preston North End.
Bruce may have led the Villans to a play-off final last season, but the hard work was undone as Fulham toppled them at Wembley and secured promotion to the Premier League.
Interestingly Bruce leaves the club pretty much two years after predecessor Roberto Di Matteo.
The Italian’s final match in charge was also against Preston.
The search is on
Villa must now move quickly to find themselves a new manager.
Some names being bandied about early on included Thierry Henry, Sam Allardyce, John Terry, Paulo Fonseca, Rafael Benitez and Andrea Stramaccioni.

The situation is concerning at Villa Park, with the club on an awful run.
The team need someone in as soon as possible to begin life after Bruce.
McCarthy in? Some fans aren’t having it
On Wednesday night, Mick McCarthy was asked about the Villa vacancy whilst on Virgin Media Sport.
The ex-Ipswich Town, Sunderland and Wolves manager has been out of work since leaving the Tractor Boys in April.

He said: “Absolutely I would yes. It’s a fabulous club, of course I would. But he [Bruce] has only just gone today, I’ve been sat doing this, I haven’t had my CV put in anyway – but I would do it, it’s a great club.”
McCarthy is around 6/1 for the gig with various bookmakers at present, but some fans just don’t want to see it:
