Aston Villa fans react to reports Steve Bruce wants Elmohamady at Newcastle

Aston Villa fans have taken to social media to react to reports Newcastle United manager Steve Bruce wants to sign Ahmed Elmohamady.

According to The Sun, former Villans boss Bruce is keen to snap up the Egypt international having previously worked with him at Villa Park, Sunderland and Hull City.

Bruce is apparently prepared to fight his superiors for the 31-year-old, who would prefer a younger option.

Elmohamady has been with Villa since 2017 and has made 87 appearances for the Midlands club.

He has proven to be a valuable squad member over the past couple of years, and has showcased his ability to play at full-back and as a winger.

With Frederic Guilbert now with the Villa first-team following his transfer in January, opportunities could be limited at full-back for Elmohamady, who also has competition on the wing from new signings Trezeguet and Jota.
