A number of Aston Villa fans have taken to Twitter to comment on reports from Goal this week suggesting that the Villans are one of the clubs to have enquired about signing Rhian Brewster from Liverpool this summer.

Brewster has left Jurgen Klopp with a tricky decision to make during this window. The 20-year-old – who is yet to make his debut in the Premier League – scored 11 goals on loan at Swansea City during the second-half of last season.

Goal is now reporting that a loan move to another top flight club could be on the cards. Liverpool have apparently deemed a switch to be the perfect next step for the young striker.

And it appears that they have will no shortage of options to pick from.

Goal reports that Villa are one of six Premier League teams to have enquired about taking Brewster on loan. It is also suggested that the three clubs relegated last season are also interested.

Dean Smith certainly needs to sign a new striker this summer. Wesley and Mbwana Samatta provided six league goals between them, while no Villa player made it into double figures in their first year back at English football’s top table.

But the links with Brewster have prompted a mixed response from some of the Villa supporters on social media.

Some have questioned whether it would be a good move. Brewster, of course, is unproven at the highest level. And some of the Villa fans do not want to see their side help develop a player who is highly unlikely to still be at the club in a year.

On the other hand, there are others who believe that he could be an inspired addition. Not only was he prolific at Swansea, but he also demonstrated his ability to score a variety of goals.

And thus, some have insisted that he could be a fantastic signing if they cannot sign one of their other targets on a permanent basis this summer.

Here is how some of the Villa fans reacted to the reports…
