Aston Villa have made an enquiry for Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard this summer, according to a report from The Sun.
The Villans will surely look to strengthen their options up front during this window. No player in Dean Smith’s squad reached double figures for league goals this past season.
And it appears that that has prompted Villa to make a move for Edouard. According to The Sun, the Premier League side have made contact with the Hoops about a potential switch for the Frenchman.
The report notes that Celtic value Edouard at £40 million. However, they have little intention of selling the 22-year-old as they go for 10 in a row this season.
Edouard has already emphasised that he is going to be a key player for Neil Lennon’s side this term. He marked the opening day of the campaign with a hat-trick in a 5-1 win.
Unsurprisingly, the reports have gone down extremely well amongst the Villa fans on social media.
Many believe that bringing Edouard to Villa Park would be an absolute masterstroke. He scored 28 goals in all competitions last season.
It remains to be seen if the Villans have any luck when it comes to landing Edouard. But plenty of supporters clearly feel that he could be an inspired addition if Smith can lure him away from Parkhead.
Here is how some of the supporters have reacted to the reports…
