Free agent goalkeeper Jordan Archer is training with Aston Villa during the international break, according to the Daily Mail.
They report that the 26-year-old one-cap Scottish international is looking for a new club following his summer release from Millwall and is working at Bodymoor Heath.
He will apparently work alongside the Villa stars who have not gone on international duty, including fellow stoppers Jed Steer and Orjan Nyland.
There’s no suggestion that a deal to take Archer to Villa Park is close but that hasn’t stopped some Villa fans on Twitter discussing whether the club should sign him.
There’s a consensus that Villa have enough goalkeepers – with four on the books – and don’t need Archer to be added to the mix.
Villa added Tom Heaton to their ranks over the summer and the former Burnley goalkeeper has added some much-needed experience to the backline.
They of course came up against Archer in the Championship in the past two seasons but from the looks of it, the supporters didn’t see much to want their club to swoop for him, even on a free transfer…

Bit weird that we can play a 5 a side training match with a team of goalkeepers on one side
