Aston Villa goalkeeper Lovre Kalinic is the subject of interest from Ligue 1 outfit Nantes, according to a report by French outlet Vingt Minutes.
They report that the French outfit are on the hunt for a new stopper to replace previous first choice Ciprian Tătăruşanu, who has moved to Lyon – and have the Croatian international in their sights.
The report goes on to say that the nature of Kalinic’s contract situation means that a loan deal might be the only feasible option – as he only joined in January and signed a four and a half year deal, as per ITV.
But it just hasn’t worked out for the towering Croatian, who was meant to be the answer to Villa’s goalkeeping woes but has found himself behind Jed Steer.

Many Villa fans took to Twitter to react to the news and were thrilled about the prospect of seeing him leave this summer.
There is no doubt a player in there somewhere – because he wouldn’t have reached international level otherwise – but it might be best for all parties if he gets some gametime elsewhere in 2019/20…
