Aston Villa fans react to performance of Marvelous Nakamba during win

Aston Villa returned to winning ways at the expense of Newcastle United and afterwards, Marvelous Nakamba earned rave reviews from supporters.

The Villans ran out 2-0 winners with Ollie Watkins and Bertrand Traore scoring the goals against the Magpies.

Dean Smith’s team had gone three games without a victory prior to last night but were impressive against Newcastle.

Nakamba was in fine form as he came in for just his second start of the campaign.

John McGinn was missing through suspension and the Zimbabwe international stepped up with aplomb.

Nakamba has struggled for minutes this season but this performance will have given Smith some food for thought.

The 27-year-old offered a timely reminder of what he is capable of and the defensive midfielder will now hope for more minutes.

Nakamba cost Villa £11 million from Club Brugge and he ears £32,500-a-week at Villa Park.

Last night he looked good alongside Douglas Luiz and looked as though he wanted to show his boss what he is capable of.
