Aston Villa fans react to Omar Elabdellaoui transfer links

Olympiacos defender Omar Elabdellaoui has emerged as a transfer target for Aston Villa, according to The Daily Mail.

Aston Villa hope to sign Elabdellaoui on a free transfer at the end of the season when his Olympiacos contract expires. The 27-year-old is available to discuss pre-contract agreements from January 1.

The Villans are not alone in their admiration for Elabdellaoui, though. Many clubs have been alerted to his contract situation. Villa’s Premier League rivals Leicester City, Burnley, Bournemouth and Watford will all compete for this bargain deal.

Celtic are also interested in the Norway international. The Bhoys will send scouts to check up on the right-back in Norway’s clash with Romania on Tuesday night. Celtic will be aiming to beat Aston Villa to this deal.

But Dean Smith wants Elabdellaoui back in England. The former Hull City loanee could compete with Frederic Guilbert and Ahmed Elmohamady for the right-back spot.
