Louie Barry helped England’s Under-17s to a comfortable victory on Monday – and some Aston Villa fans on Twitter were impressed by their teenager’s international display.

The 16-year-old striker scored in a 4-0 friendly win against Ukraine, while also providing an assist for Everton’s Lewis Dobbin.

He scored for the Young Lions on Saturday in a 4-2 win against Russia too and continued his decent form against Ukraine with another goal on the international stage.

Villa signed the highly-rated teenager in the January transfer window for around £888,000 (BBC) from Spanish top-flight giants Barcelona and he was previously on the books at Midlands rivals West Brom.

The English centre-forward is yet to play any first-team football at club level during his career, but is being tipped for a big future moving forward.

A selection of Villa supporters on social media reacted to Barry’s international contribution on Monday and are predicting him to make a serious impact at their club in years to come.

Dean Smith’s side are currently battling a relegation battle in the Premier League despite reaching the Carabao Cup final, but some have suggested he could make the first-team squad by the end of the season.
